Materials made for your child, not pulled off a shelf
Before your child's first session, we write their own materials, built around their grade, the chapter they are on at school, and what they care about. Your tutor walks in prepared, so the first hour is spent teaching and not guessing.
Three things, written for one student
At GradeUp, new students get materials made for them.
A first-session journal
A short, friendly workbook written for your student: a page to meet their tutor, a quick check-in on how they are feeling, a warm-up, and questions from the chapter they are working on in class. There is no timer and no score. It simply shows the tutor where your child is strong and where to spend the time.
A private tutor guide
A guide that tells the tutor who your child is, what has worked for them, and a minute-by-minute plan for the first session, with an answer key so feedback is fast and accurate.
A chapter prep sheet
A lesson-by-lesson summary of what the unit covers and where students usually slip, so the tutor has refreshed the material before session one.
From your first call to your child's first page
You tell us about your child
In the free consultation we ask about their grade, what is causing friction, and what is already being tried. If you are happy to share it, a recent report card, outline or assignment tells us even more.
We write the materials
We build the journal, the tutor guide and the prep sheet around your child's school work and interests, so nothing is generic.
Your tutor prepares
The tutor reads the guide, reviews the chapter and arrives knowing your child, not meeting them cold.
Session one starts with your child's own page
From there, every recap tells us what clicked and what did not, and the next materials are adjusted. Practice assigned between sessions appears in your portal, matched to your child's grade and subject.
Built around the school's own work
We start from your child's school outline, booklet or recent assignments, so what we practise matches what the class is doing. Pair it with a tutor matched on subject and personality, as described in How It Works, and you get a plan built for your child.
